DANIEL INNES

Daniel Innes is an architect working for Dominic McKenzie Architects in London. He completed his Part III at the University of Westminster, having previously studied at the RCA, Bath, and Aalto University, Helsinki.

Daniel joined Architecture LGBT+ in 2019, becoming member of the Committee in 2022. He is responsible for establishing Architecture LGBT+ Life Drawing, a free monthly life drawing programme aimed at LGBTQ+ members of the profession. Sessions are held once a month, each time at a different architecture practice. Images from these events can be seen on our instagram.

Daniel has a keen interest in conversations surrounding Neurodiversity and Disability within architectural education and practice. Drawing on his experience of being a designer with ADHD, he founded the RCA Neurodiversity Society while at the RCA. He is also a keen writer, having had several texts published on Drawing Matter, for whom he has worked as a freelance editor.

His academic interests lie in exploring the intersections between bodies, systems of language and space using queer methods. His MA work from the RCA was shortlisted the 2020 RIBA Wren Insurance Association Scholarship and the 2020 RIBA London West Student Award. Daniel was listed as one of the winners of the RIBAJ Rising Stars Award 2022. Away from the studio, his interest include running and writing crosswords.

Daniel’s pronouns are he/him.
